Photobook presents an unconventional portrait of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, rebuilt from the ground half a century ago, captured by photographer Nicolas Grospierre.
Unlike other albums about the Castle, the photos show what the viewer doesn't see: the backstage, staff rooms, technical facilities, conservation workshops, etc.—everything that forms the modern framework for the only partially reconstructed royal chambers.
The cover is bound in fabric that was used for the reconstruction of the castle’s interiors, the unused surplus of which remained in the castle’s warehouse.
